Art Maketh the Home (and the Sale!)

It seems some industries are quick to recognise the impact original art can have on their audience outside of museum organisations. Designers, decorators and stylists have long championed their decorative flair to assist in selling property, but they have also discovered the difference original artwork can make on the all important buyer’s impression. So too, real estate agents, property developers and building managers are also realising the right original artwork can be more effective than uniform framed posters, flower displays and potted plants.

Artbank offers an invaluable resource for people and organisations to source museum quality original artwork to enhance their properties for sale on special short term agreements. Our art consultants can work with designers or directly with clients to choose the feature canvas, unique work on paper or atmosphere enhancing sculpture.

When a person styles their home or a developer releases properties for sale, the need to create an atmosphere and mood is paramount. The visitor will enter a space and the artwork will tell them something about it, whether it is classic, contemporary, warm or sophisticated. The life, subject and medium of the artwork will tell a story about the property in a sub-conscious manner – and it can be very effective!

Current Artbank client Heide Robson approached Artbank to source artwork for the sale of her impressive 1910 Edwardian home in Surrey Hills, Victoria. Says Robson of the Artbank experience and outcome: “it has been a wonderful and very easy process, the artwork is of very high quality and has complimented the house’s interiors enormously, I have had amazing feedback about the Artbank art, and it really is a wonderful service”.

The benefits are not just for those selling real estate. Only last week a keen visitor to a home for sale in Melbourne was immediately drawn to a painting on display, discovered it was from Artbank, and after we led her in the right direction purchased a work by the artist for herself!

This is yet another way Artbank reaches out to seek new audiences. In an approach that combines commercial opportunity and exposure for contemporary art, our Artbank collection is working hard for its artists and clients!

Special industry short term agreements are available by Director’s approval for commercial and private property sales and display areas. Please contact our enquiries line 1800 251 651 for more information.
